Mia Azar completed her MA in Spatial & Product Design with Distinction at Kingston University London in 2009. Prior to moving to London, Mia, born and raised in Lebanon, obtained her BFA in Graphic Design with Distinction from the American University of Beirut (AUB). Seeking to broaden her exposure to the design industry, she pursued various internships in Lebanon and London (Dazed & Confused magazine, Rana Salam Design, among others) and worked as a freelancer for the Office of Publications at AUB and Mind the Gap design and communication agency in Beirut.

Drawing on her knowledge in graphic, publication and information design,
Mia is currently working on interdisciplinary projects, alongside scientific
and design research, combining the various mediums of product, space,
and technology with an aim to extend how design can influence social and cultural environments.

In February 2010, she joined PenguinCube, an award-winning and independent design consultancy, where she is currently a Senior Art Director. In 2013, Mia joined the Faculty of Engineering & Architecture at AUB and teaches undergraduate students in the Architecture and Design department.
